The Autumn Medley Luxury Bouquet is what happens when the flower stand starts changing colour. The bright flowers of summer begin to make way for burnt orange roses, deep reds, berries, blue thistles and branches of autumn leaves. It is one of our favourite times of year to make flowers.
There is a lot going on in this bouquet, and that’s exactly the idea. Burnt sienna roses bring the orange, deep red blooms add drama and blue thistles cut through all those warmer colours. Then come the hypericum berries, unusual anthuriums, grasses and oak leaves. We like the contrast between the polished flowers and the slightly wilder stems you might expect to find in an autumn garden or hedgerow.
Our florists don’t try to make everything sit at the same height. We let the grasses escape, allow the foliage to stretch out and tuck smaller flowers and berries between the bigger blooms. It gives the bouquet that generous, slightly unruly look you get from a really good armful of autumn flowers.
This is a bouquet that really shows off the florist’s hand. Each flower has its place, from the burnt sienna roses and deep red amaryllis to the blue thistles, berries and autumn oak leaves. Our florists work through the bouquet stem by stem, balancing the richer colours with foliage, grasses and those smaller details that make the finished bouquet so interesting to look at.
